Baby Boy is a coming-of-age drama set in South Central Los Angeles, following Jody, a 20-something man still living at home and struggling to transition into adulthood. Unemployed and emotionally immature, Jody drifts between relationships, casual hustles, and dependence on his mother, while avoiding real responsibility for his life or his two children by different women. His girlfriend Yvette wants stability and commitment, but Jody's inability to let go of boyhood patterns keeps pulling him back into cycles of conflict, infidelity, and avoidance. When his mother brings a new ex-con boyfriend into the house, Jody is forced to confront his own stagnation. As tensions rise both at home and in his relationships, he is pushed toward a reckoning with what it actually means to become a man.

Baby Boy (2001)
130 min
The story of Jody, a misguided, 20-year-old African-American who is really just a baby boy finally forced-kicking and screaming to face the commitments of real life. Streetwise and jobless, he has not only fathered two children by two different women-Yvette and Peanut but still lives with his own mother. He can't seem to strike a balance or find direction in his chaotic life.
