Gaetano è un rigido politico del sud, Diego è un ricco imprenditore del nord. I due si incontrano un'estate a Gaeta, ma quello che ancora non sanno è che l'anno dopo i rispettivi figli decideranno di sposarsi. Le mentalità opposte delle famiglie non facilitano l'unione tra i giovani Riccardo e Ilenia, che diventeranno presto un bersaglio facile per gli stratagemmi di sabotaggio dei suoceri. A young fashion blogger and an aspiring songwriter seem to have not that much in common, but when Cupid’s arrow hits them, every difference fades away and overnight they decide to get married.
