Kris Kristofferson stars as Martin ‘Rubber Duck’ Penwald, forced to go on the run after an encounter with corrupt Sheriff ‘Dirty’ Lyle Wallace (Ernest Borgnine). As other truckers hear the news, the decision is made to form a mile-long ‘convoy’, to take a stand against the abusive sheriff and the problematic 55mp/h speed limit. Teeming with explosive cargo, a highly public standoff escalates to a point of no return… Also starring Ali MacGraw, Burt Young, Franklyn Ajaye and Madge Sinclair, this thrilling film was Peckinpah’s most commercially successful venture.
