Directed by Mamoru Oshii, Ghost in the Shell is a Japanese anime film based on Masamune Shirows manga. Atsuko Tanaka voices Major Motoko Kusanagi, a cyborg officer in a future where cybernetic bodies, artificial intelligence and digital identity shape police work and state power. The film became one of the most influential cyberpunk anime titles of the 1990s and a major reference point for adult animated science fiction.
