Though ostensibly a family-oriented outing, Ivan Reitman's Kindergarten Cop ensures that fans of star Arnold Schwarzenegger's action films won't be disappointed by pumping up the Cop half of the equation to a surprisingly high degree. Schwarzenegger stars as John Kimble, an L.A. cop who learns that the ex-wife and son of his drug-dealer quarry Crisp (Richard Tyson) are living in secrecy in small-town Oregon. Kimble is partnered with Phoebe (Pamela Reed), a former teacher, who is slated to begin undercover work at the school where Crisp's ex is suspected of working under an assumed identity. However, Phoebe becomes ill, forcing rough, gruff Kimble to take over the kindergarten class instead.
