En 1943, un groupe de lycéens décide de passer à l’action contre l’occupant. Faisant preuve d’imagination et de courage, ils parviennent à faire sauter la Kommandantur et à délivrer des otages. Mais le meurtre d’un soldat allemand va déclencher l’appareil policier nazi. François Villiers reçu un Golden Globe pour « L’eau vive » et le Grand prix du Cinéma français pour « Jusqu’au bout du monde ».

In 1943, a group of high school students decide to take action against the Nazi occupying forces. Showing courage and imagination, they manage to blow up the Kommandantur and to release hostages. But after the killing of a German soldier the Nazi police apparatus strikes back. The young resisters are arrested and two of them are condemned to death.
