This twisted tale from director Howard Avedis is a prime slasher which arrived at the end of the stalk n’ slash craze and added a touch of giallo and devil worship to the mix. Christie (Mary Beth McDonough) is convinced her father’s death wasn’t an accident and tries to unlock the truth. Her trail of clues leads to the local mortuary where she uncovers ghastly horrors beyond her imagination. Probably best known for starring Bill Paxton as an embalmer (the movie is also known as Embalmed) who is a bit of a social misfit with an unhealthy, lifelong crush on Christie. Mortuary contains plenty of juicy set-pieces and bloodletting for fans of the genre to enjoy.
