Cult movie icon Sid Haig (Spider Baby and The Devil's Rejects) stars in this remake of the George A. Romero zombie classic that adds a few new twists on the familiar tale. When Barb and her brother Johnny arrive late for the funeral of their beloved aunt, they soon find themselves surrounded by reanimated human corpses with an insatiable appetite for human flesh. After watching Johnny fall victim to a particularly gruesome fate, Barb flees from the cemetery and is subsequently rescued by local college student Ben. Together, Barb and Ben seek refuge in the nearby Cooper Plant Farm. As Barb, Ben, and the Coopers all struggle to fend off the infinite army of the living dead, it quickly becomes apparent that the most dangerous enemy may not be the one that hungers for their flesh, but nefarious mortician Gerald Tovar, Jr. (Haig), who possesses a secret so diabolical that he is willing to kill to ensure that it doesn't get out.
