The film follows four men who arrive in the frontier town of Silverado and confront a corrupt sheriff and a powerful rancher. Conceived as a revival of the classical studio western, the film blends ensemble storytelling with traditional frontier conflicts. It marked one of Kevin Costners early major screen roles.
