The Ghost of Yotsuya Samurai Iemon (Kazuo Hasegawa, Gate of Hell) has grown distant from his wife Oiwa since she miscarried. Oume, the pretty young daughter of a wealthy family, falls madly in love with Iemon after he saves her from a group of drunk swordsmen. Oiwa learns about the blossoming affair and grows despondent.
