About this release
Rupert Pupkin is a delusional, obsessive autograph hound convinced he is destined for stand-up comedy stardom. After being repeatedly rejected by his idol, late-night talk show host Jerry Langford, Rupert refuses to back down. Driven by a desperate fantasy of fame, he partners with an unstable fellow stalker to kidnap the host. His only ransom demand is to perform the opening stand-up monologue on national television to force his own breakthrough.
