Bored with the same annual scare-and-scream routine, Jack Skellington, the beloved Pumpkin King of Halloween Town, longs for something fresh and stumbles upon the bright colors and warm spirits of Christmas Town. Enamored by the holiday, Jack plots to bring Christmas under his control by kidnapping Santa Claus and taking over the role himself. However, his well-meaning but macabre mission goes seriously awry, creating a total nightmare for good children everywhere. It soon falls on Sally, the lonely rag doll who loves him, to stitch reality back together and help Jack find his true passion again.

But as Christmas approaches, Jack's rag-doll girlfriend, Sally, tries to foil his misguided plans.
