Stanley Kubrick's iconic adaptation of Stephen King's terrifying novel stars Jack Nicholson as Jack Torrance, a frustrated writer who accepts a job as the winter caretaker for the isolated Overlook Hotel. Moving into the snowbound resort with his wife Wendy and psychically gifted son Danny, Jack intends to use the solitude to break his writer's block. However, as the hotel's dark, malevolent history unfolds, a sinister presence slowly takes hold of Jack's mind, driving him into a terrifying, axe-wielding homicidal madness.
