In this comedy, two fabulously wealthy but morally bankrupt brothers make a one-dollar bet over the argument of heredity vs. environment. The brothers arrange for impoverished street hustler Eddie Murphy to be placed in the lap of luxury. Simultaneously, they set about to reduce aristocratic yuppie Dan Aykroyd to poverty and disgrace.
