A proposed gas pipeline divides the small town of Beaverfield. The day its residents meet up at the local inn, a severe snowstorm batters the area, effectively trapping everyone inside the establishment. As the tensions between the two opposing sides heighten, it is up to the newly arrived forest ranger Finn (Sam Richardson) and postal worker Cecily (Milana Vayntrub) to keep the peace and find out the person responsible for the appearance of a mysterious creature that has started terrorizing the community.
